Four Lions

There's a relatively low budget movie that's causing a few waves on the other side of the pond. It has been playing in a small number of cinemas and drawing huge crowds. Despite its limited release, it's very competetive in terms of box office numbers. I haven't heard anything about a North American release as of yet, but I'm sure its in the works. It was featured at he Sundance film festival.

The movie is the directorial debut of British film maker Christopher Morris and is called Four Lions. To many Americans, the subject matter will be rather touchy as its basically a spoof on terrorism. The film follows four British men who are members of the most incompetent terrorist cell that you could ever imagine as they try to "blow up the internet". Audiences in the U.K. have been raving about the film, and so far it has steered clear of any major controversy. Even though terrorism is a very serious subject, the film isn't making any judgement calls about that, it merely chronicles the antics of these men. I hope that when it eventually does get released in North America, the public will just accept the movie for what it is, and not try tomake a mountain out of a molehill.
