The CBC has reported that Canadians are becoming ill due to salmonella that has been found in two different brands of head cheese.
!8 Canadians (in Ontario and B.C.) have become very ill. This means that the other ten of you that actually eat this stuff had better be on guard for a while.
Mmmmmmm, head cheese. Chock full of head cheesy goodness. Were you aware that head cheese isn't actually a cheese, but a "meat jelly made with flesh from the head of a calf or pig (sometimes a sheep or cow) in aspic. While the parts used can vary, the brain, eyes and ears are often removed." ?
I'm sorry for the head-cheese eaters who are ill, but I think eating head cheese is a very much like base-jumping or any other dangerous activity, live by the sword, die by the sword. They knew what they were getting into, and you can only ride the tiger for so long.
