Quinte, On. real estate agent: The Heatwave Lasted Three Days.

The Heatwave Lasted Three Days.

guy in shorts

Some eye candy for the ladies. Here's a fellow who knows how to dress for the warm weather.

Summer sure has arrived with a vengeance here in the Quinte area. Today, thankfully it rained a little bit and that seemed to take the edge off of the heat. The previous three days saw temperatures creep up into the high thirties and possibly even the low forties (that's somewhere between sweltering hot and boiling hot for those of you accustomed to the Farenheit scale).

Thankfully our office here at Remax Trent Valley is airconditioned, so I don't mind spending more time indoors. I usually don't complain about the heat too much because I whine and moan all winter long, so now's the time for me to put up and shut up.

Next Thursday, July 15th will see the start of Downtown Trenton's 'Festival on the Bay', which in former years was known simply as "The sidewalk sale". I like the sound of Festival on the Bay a bit better. As part of this year's festivities The Trenton Idol competition will kick off with celebrity judge Zack Werner (who?). Trenton Idol is a lot like American Idol, except without the large talent pool from which to choose the contestants and winning the competition doesn't seem quite so glamarous. However, it is one of the summer events that I look forward to every year. All the downtown merchants put up tents and sell their wares on the sidewalk. Some out-of-towners even come and set up tables. There's the candy guy, the facepainter, the cowboy hat lady, the flag couple, and my personal favourite, the fresh lemonade dude among others. The main street is closed to traffic for three days, and Trenton has somewhat of a festival-like atmosphere and I run into people who I haven't seen in quite a while.

Hopefully the weather won't be quite so hot in the upcoming week. It should be a fun weekend.

Hi Malcolm,

I think those of us up here in Canada are more sensible about handling -30 than we are +30. We have a thermometer in the shade at our place and it hit 37.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. That's over 99 degrees Fahrenheit.

So, what did I do? I went out and showed 5 homes, as planned.

In shorts : )

Cynthia Larsen - Sonoma County Real Estate, CA (Safe Haven Realty) Oh you wanted to look Cynthia ;-)

Bob Foster (Century 21 Lanthorn R. E. Ltd. Belleville, Ontario) Most Canadians are more sensible about the winter Bob, just not me. I thouroughly dislike them.  I hope your shorts were a little more sensible than buddy in the picture.

O  M  G  ! ! ! Seriously, I could have done without this visual!

It has been overcast and almost downright COLD in San Diego! I am dying for the heat of summer to come! We pay good money in California and THOUGHT the price included sun for 352 days of the year. I guess even the Big Guy is participating in a recession.....

Malcolm,

The heat wave certainly pushed a lot of air conditioners to the limit.

Oh Malcolm what a laugh!! Great 'eye catcher' and loved your tag line 'his cheeky grin' ....will remember that one!

Agree, Festival by the Bay sounds so much more appropriate than sidewalk sale. Am with you on the lemonade dude!

YIKES!  I lived in San Francisco for 5 years in my 20's.  This guy would fit right in.  Imagine dressing like this, looking in the mirror and thinking you are ready for the public.  Is he a Realtor®?

Chris Smith Prudential Ronan Realty I thought it was pretty funny too Chris.

Joshua Zargari (MJ Decorators Workshop LI staging and decorating) OY VEY indeed Joshua, that sums the picture up nicely.

Stephanie Reynolds (AgentsOfPossibility.com, REALTOR, GRI, ePro at CMI, Inc. ) Stephanie, maybe the Sun is working-to-rule in California to protest something that Arnold has done.

Brian Madigan LL.B. (Royal LePage Innovators Realty, Broker) Mine's certainly been working overtime Brian.

Malcolm,

The photo is way too funny!   I believe the lady in the background (on the right) must have noticed him too and also could not help but smile.  :)

Malcolm ~ my sister sent me a birthday card about 5 years ago with that guy on the card in front of the Eiffel Tower.  I had also gotten that same picture (with him and the Eiffel Tower) via email from a friend a few months before the card.  He sure likes to travel, doesn't he????  As a joke, we superimposed the head of an agent in my office onto his body.  It was just hysterical!

I'm sure he will continue to travel!  Thanks for the laugh.  Oh, I hope your heatwave slows down.  Denver hit 102 yesterday.
