Quinte, On. real estate agent: For the Love of Pete. Hockey Season. Already?

For the Love of Pete. Hockey Season. Already?

I woke up this morning when my radio alarm clock was blaring out some very depressing news. Last night the Trenton Golden Hawks played their first pre-season game, losing 3 - 1 to the Wellington Dukes in Junior A hockey. I'm not depressed because the Golden Hawks lost, I'm depressed that it's only the 20ieth of August and I already have to start hearing about hockey.

Already? We just finished the Stanley Cup playoffs in June. Don't get me wrong, I like hockey well enough, but this is far too early. Can't they just let us enjoy our summer? Why do we have to take a good thing and dilute it down until we are sick of it?

There is no room to think of any other sport right now as FOOTBALL season is about to start. Go Ravens.

Ah, Canadians and their hockey! I dated a guy from London, Ontario YEARS ago that had played hockey in college - seems like that is a rough sport -

I don't think that there is even an off season any more in most sports. But with the huge salaries I guess they need all of the revenue they can get. It is all about money. I'm with you it comes around too fast each year. Give the guys a longer break---in most any sport.

I'm with you Malcolm. One sports season seems to run into another. I also can't stand seeing Halloween and Thanksgiving products for sale in the beginning of August!

Michael Ford (Coldwell Banker Heritage Homes) You are right Michael. Basketballis just around the corner too.

Ellie McIntire Real Estate in Howard County Maryland (The McIntire Team of Long & Foster) At least the NFL is more sensible in this regard Ellie. The superbowl in in January, so there's a 6 month break. Maybe this is why people are so enthusiastic for the NFL.

Barbara-Jo's Beach Blog - Clearwater & Pinellas County Florida Real Estate (Charles Rutenberg Realty) Barbara-Jo, any sport can get rough, hockey has its moments.

Randy DeLaMare (Utah Select Realty, Inc.) You're right Randy. Money is the motivating factor, and that's what is wrong with most sports lately. Junior A hockey is just for teenagers, the vast majority of whom never go on to play in the NHL or the lesser pro leagues. This should be less about money in their case.

Janice Ankrett ASP (Janice Ankrett Home Staging) Oh Lord Janice, they rush us from one thing to the next. As soon as Halloween is over, the stores will be decked out for Christmas. It's not right.

Couldn't agree with you more Malcolm. Their loss, because it is just too darned nice out to be running in and being glued to the old t.v. yet! Ice? Only in drinks right now please! Have a good night.

Ah, but we are a sports loving bunch - but you would think there would br a little more of a break time for hockey players - to recuperate, it's such a rough physical sport, guess that is why I am such a fan - plus it's so competitive! Lively & Action Packed!

Al and Peggy Cunningham, Brokers Voted Best Real Estate People Brampton (RE/MAX Realty Services Inc. Buying or Selling) That sounds good to me, just in my drinks for now.

Carla Harbert - RE/MAX Pros of Ohio (www.LorainCountyHomeSales.com) It is a great sport Carla, but everything should be done in moderation.
