Tomorrow is election day in the good old U.S. of A. Apparently it's a very important election. It always seems to be a very important election. I hear this every two years. I have come to believe that the American political parties spend more time, resources and energy trying to win elections than they do trying to run the country.
In the spirit of the 2010 election, along with a list of celebrities who are mobilising the masses by recording phone messages that are then dialed out to millions of homes, I am urging you to get out and vote. I am urging you to get out and vote because it's the politically correct and popular thing to be urging people to do. Just try not to vote for any idiots.
I'm pretty sure that no matter what the outcome is, about 50% of the population will be cheesed off and will already be thinking of things that they will blame the government for and will be working on their slogans for 2012 when they plan to "Take back America".
It's pretty funny watching some of the vacuous political advertisements. I often wonder where Americans get the stamina for this. It's awfully tiring. A while ago the Simpsons made a parody election commercial, and it's scary how many politician's messages have little more substance than Ralph Wiggum's does. After all, we all want a bright future for America.
