Quinte, On. real estate agent: Ch-ch-ch-changes

Century 21

Lately I haven't blogged as much as I usually do. I have a good excuse, probably one of the best ones a real estate agent who is normally in the habit of blogging could have.

I have switched companies.

I would like to start this announcement by thanking everybody at Remax Trent Valley. It was a great place to work and the people there were wonderful. I learned a great deal about this business in my time there. My broker of record, Chery Mills always had time for me and was a fountain of knowledge and good advice. The ladies at the front desk, Karen, Lesley, Kim and Tracy had a lot of patience with me and kept me on the straight and narrow as best as they could - no easy task. I will try to be less of a pain in the butt over here at Century 21 and not cause as many grey hairs. The agents at Remax were all extremely kind with me and were a great bunch of people to work with. I will miss seeing some of them on a daily basis.

I am very excited to be moving over to Century 21 Lanthorn Real Estate Ltd. I have been talking with Bill Rorabeck, the broker of record for a few months now. It started over a potential real estate transaction and progressed to general discussions about real estate in this area. It didn't take long for me to figure out that Bill was really the type of guy that I would want to work for and his subtle method of recruitment worked like a charm. I was hooked.

I like the idea of working in a smaller and very efficient office. I like the idea that Century 21 Lanthorn Real Estate has offices in Belleville, Madoc, Napanee, Picton, and Wellington as well as the one here in Trenton that I will be working out of. I like the idea that Bill is a very forward-thinking broker and works very hard with all of the agents at his 6 offices. I have admired some of the agents in this office for a while now, and I will now have the opportunity to work closely with them. It's going to be an exciting time in my real estate career.

Excuse me now, I have to go and get measured up for a shiny new yellow jacket.

Good Morning Malcolm, best wishes for success in your new office.  It sounds like a good move.

Hi Malcolm,

Moving companies and with it all the work involved in getting that all squared away in every piece of marketing, web, signage, etc. etc, I can just imagine, the amount of stuff to go thru to make sure that all is done correct and immediate.

I do not envy you, as far as all the changes it involves, but sometimes a change is needed to get the old fires burning.

Wishing many sales, referrals, and lots of taxes.......;0)

Happy Selling

Hi Malcolm... I'd been wondering where you were.  Good luck in your new office.  Changes are just little obstacles around which you have to maneuver but it can be done.  It looks to me as if you've picked all the right reasons to move!  Best of luck.

Bob, thanks very much, that's the spirit, let's make something happen today.

Dan, I appreciate the wishes, and yes, I do think I made the right move.

Peter and Linda, yes, the change in logo is a very daunting task. All those web profiles and links, ouch, this could take a while, but I'm setting aside a couple of hours every day for the next little while to get this done.

Kathy, thanks, that's very true, it is a minor obstacle that I will sail around. In no time it will be like I've always been here.

I hope your new office, and yellow jacket, are a perfect fit.

Wow, what a shocker Malcolm! Well, they say a change is as good as a rest so you should feel like you are back from a vacation! All the best at your new company Malcolm, if we have referrals to the Trenton area, we still know the right guy to call, even if he is wearing yellow instead of the red shirt LOL! You will be one busy guy over the next few weeks...alll the best!

Good luck to you. This decision is a difficult one particularly if you enjoy working with the people.

Malcolm,  I am so excited for you and your changes.  I also am impressed with your professional approach through your challenges, you are a role model.  I have now been under two shields as well in my young career and I think it is less about the national/international brand and far more about the people you are around day to day.  It seems as though you have found your kindred spirts and I admire your ability to make the changes necessary to succeed. Best of luck my norther brother.

A big move. Congratulations on taking the leap. It's always good to move your cheese once in a while.

Norma, thank you, I suspect they will be.

Al and Peggy, I really appreciate that. thanks you, and yeah, there's a lot to do.

Brian, it was difficult, I really enjoyed my time there, but I have to look ahead.

Larry, thank you, and you're right, the actual office that an agent works in has more of an influence on them than the brand that they work with.

Chris, thank you, I'm sure I will be.

Ellie, thanks, and I enjoyed that book too, I hadn't really thought of this in the "moving the cheese" light, but you're right, that's exactly what I've done.

Hi Malcolm,  Good luck with your new company.  I think it's good to recharge now and again.  I am enjoying my new office in Stratford and the agents have been very welcoming.  Maybe change is what we both needed.
