The Trenton High School track is in severe need of repair. Oftentimes it is a struggle for schools in smaller communities to maintain or upgrade their existing facilities. This is why events like the Kraft Celebration Tour are a Godsend.
Kraft is generously donating $250,000 to ten different communities across Canada to upgrade their sporting facilities. There is a bit of a catch though, as twenty communities are selected and paired off. This means that people will have to vote for their community to win, and the winner of each match up recieves $25,000.
Tomorrow Trenton is in the spotlight as it competes against Wallaceburg, Ontario for that valuable funding. Voting starts at noon and lasts until noon the next day. You can read about Trenton's ambitions here.
All residents of Trenton should vote tomorrow. This will be a great thing for our kids, as we really do need our track upgraded. The good people of Wallaceburg might feel a little different about this, but I will let them worry about themselves. As an unofficial ambassador of all-things-Trenton, I know where my heart is.
So, Trentonians, tomorrow is your big chance to take a couple of minutes and do something for our kids. Just vote here after noon tomorrow. You can vote multiple times, so don't be shy. I would also appreciate if non-Trentonians took a minute out of their day to cast a vote our way (unless, of course, you live in Wallaceburg, then you don't have to vote at all).
