Quinte, On. real estate agent: A Well Staged Apartment???

A Well Staged Apartment???

I'm a bit of a news junkie, so I'm constantly reading the news. One of my biggest observations in the several decades that I've been doing this is that some people are truly messed up. Perhaps this doesn't come as a surprise to you.

I like to think that I'm a fairly well rounded holistic thinker, and that I try to understand the full story, not just the little snippet of the story that the press reports. People's motivations and environment have to be taken into account to gain a fuller understanding of the situation. Sometimes it's not possible to comprehend what goes on inside people's brains even if all the information is laid down in front of you.

I came across this article in the National Post. The photographs are reason enough to check it out. A 45 year old man in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia decided to decorate his apartment with life sized dolls. He had 29 of them inside his apartment. This would be creepy enough for most people, yet there's more to the story. He acquired these dolls from local cemeteries, I suppose he had a preference for ex-human beings. Mummified corpses.

This fellow would dress the dolls meticulously, usually in girl's clothing and place them about his apartment, one was even leaning down from a stack of bookeshelves. "Well hello there doll, hang around here much?". Another one had the head of a stuffed animal in place of the human head. Yikes.

Needless to say, this man has been arrested, but interestingly enough, only faces three months in prison. I'm thinking that this guy should perhaps recieve quite a bit more than three months supervision. When he gets out he also shouldn't be allowed to fraternise with dead folk.

One thing for sure though, if I was his real estate agent, I'd probably have advised him to put the corpses in storage while the apartment was being shown. His decorating style might not be to everybody's taste.

That is just plain creepy...and shouldn't someone also be concerned with here he got these "dolls".  Some even crazier person was willing to sell or give him these corpses.

Yeah, it's a little creepy Kim. I think he just dug them up. That's how I get my cadavers, it saves a lot of hassle with paperwork and explaining exactly why I need them.

Malcolm, almost looks like it could be a future CSI episode.  Wonder what the psychiatrist will say?

Hi Malcolm - Well, that's one way to deal with loneliness, and it has the advantage of always providing a non-critical audience. Obviously, this guy doesn't belong in prison - he should either be institutionalized in a mental hosptial or running for public office.

Chris, I think the pstchiatrist might just tell him that he's nuts.

Dick, I never thought of the "lonliness" angle, hmmm, I hope he's not trying to "date" them.

Malcolm - Well, I've seen doll collections when visiting homes to stage, but this one is on a whole other level!

I don't know about a longer prison term - although he's surrounded by cadavres, you can't exactly charge him for murder...  Now don't even get me started on the wallpaper in the background!

Malcolm. I know a few guys that would prefer their partner be .  . .  well a little bit quieter, but this guy took it all just a little too far.

Hi Sally, yes I was also a little disappointed with his choice of wallpaper. It didn't go well with his doll collection at all.

Evan, I would have to concur that he went a tad over the line.

Malocolm,

That was incredibly strange and awfully creepy. Well, it's good that we won't be liosting his property any time soon.

Brian, I think this is one listing I'd have serious reservations about. Who knows what the home inspection would uncover?

Malcolm, I've dealt with collections but never one like that LOL! Can you imagine walking into that!

That is gross. I don't think I would even get the listing agreement out if I walked into that!

Yikes, Malcolm, waaaayyyy too creepy! Can you imagine heading into his apartment for the listing appointment...?

Oh wow!  That certainly is a unique way to decorate an apartment.  Let's hope he takes up a... better... hobby once out of prison.

Malcolm - I read the article, and that is way too creepy.  I doubt we'll see any of those dolls being sold by Marie Osmond on QVC!
